How do we calculate the Ecoscore of PHEV?
These are the formulas to calculate the Ecoscore of PHEV petrol and diesel Euro 5 & 6 light duty vehicles (cars and vans):
PHEV petrol Euro 5 & 6:
-
Ecoscore = 100*exp[-0.00357*(0,36*CO2 + 23,17*HC + 101,88*NOx + 0,011*CO + 1407,75*PM + 7,01*FCptr + 2,17*FCEV+ 0,333*dB(A) – 12,98)]
-
Ecoscore Air Quality = 100*exp[-0.00357*2.5*(23,17*HC + 101,88*NOx + 0,011*CO + 1407,75*PM + 5,89*FCptr + 1,16*FCEV)]
PHEV diesel Euro 5:
-
Ecoscore = 100*exp[-0.00357*(0,36*CO2 + 23,17*HC + 101,88*0,63*25/(25+RangeEV) + 0,011*CO + 1407,75*PM + 5,19*FCdsl + 2,17*FCEV+ 0,333*dB(A) – 12,86)]
-
Ecoscore Air Quality = 100*exp[-0.00357*2.5*(23,17*HC + 101,88*0,5*25/(25+RangeEV)+ 0,011*CO + 1407,75*PM + 4,25*FCdsl + 1,16*FCEV)]
PHEV diesel Euro 6:
-
Ecoscore = 100*exp[-0.00357*(0,36*CO2 + 23,17*HC + 101,88*0,5*25/(25+RangeEV) + 0,011*CO + 1407,75*PM + 5,19*FCdsl + 2,17*FCEV+ 0,333*dB(A) – 12,86)]
-
Ecoscore Air Quality = 100*exp[-0.00357*2.5*(23,17*HC + 101,88*0,5*25/(25+RangeEV)+ 0,011*CO + 1407,75*PM + 4,25*FCdsl + 1,16*FCEV)]
Of which the following parameters are mentioned on the certificate of conformity:
CO2 CO2 emission (combined) (g/km)
HC for petrol PHEV: HC emission (g/km)
for diesel PHEV: the difference between the HC+NOx and the NOx emissions (g/km)
NOx for petrol PHEV: NOx emission (g/km)
for diesel PHEV complying with standard (for more info, click here):
-
Euro 5, this is 0.63 g/km
-
Euro 6, this is 0.50 g/km
CO CO emission (g/km)
PM the particulate emissions (g/km)
FC(xxx) for PHEV: the weighted petrol or diesel consumption (combined cycle) in l/100km (FCptr resp. FCdsl) and the weighted (combined cycle) electricity consumption (FCEV) in kWh/100km
dB(A) the noise level (driving), expressed in dB(A)
RangeEV the range (km) of the PHEV in electricity only mode
